The University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden invites you to the Researchers' Night on 29 September. The Natural History Museum and the Botanical Garden will be open longer than usual and special programmes will occur.
The Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide public event that displays science's diversity and its impact on citizens' daily lives in fun, inspiring ways.
A tour of the zoological collections takes place at 7 p.m. at the University of Tartu Natural History Museum. Research Fellow of Zoology Villu Soon will present specimens of the world's animal species and share fascinating facts, such as which specimen was used in the Nublu music video. Up to 20 people will be able to explore the collections. The gathering will be in the museum lobby. At 8 p.m., a guided tour for families will start at the museum, where you can wander through the evolutionary history of Earth's living and non-living nature. The number of participants in the museum tour is a maximum of 25.
At the University of Tartu Botanical Garden, a guided tour starts at 6 p.m. Margit Hirv will introduce the botanical garden's departments and the plants growing there. The maximum number of participants is 25. The gathering will be in the lobby. At 7 p.m., a curatorial tour of the "Plant Enchantment" exhibition with Katrin Puskar will occur in the botanic garden's study classroom. Textiles dyed with plants, all recycled materials, are on display.
The University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden will be open until 9 p.m. on Researchers' Night. Admission is free.
